Hillsong _ aftermath album

in the summer i had the awesome opportunity to attend the 'aftermath' concert put on by Hillsong Unitied. I asked my wife bren, if she thought the concert would be more of a concert or a worship service. neither of us knew what to expect. turns out - it was by far a worship concert.

since that eve i have not been able to stop listening to the 'aftermath' cd. over and over it plays - taking me to places in my mind and heart that have truly been places where i have met with God.

the power of music is so evident in my life. ever since i was young - gr. 3 - listening to U2 secretly without my parents knowing right up to today blasting tunes in my car or in the house ... music has been a real escape for me. a place i can go and connect with the message of the musician.

before the latest Hillsong album the album of choice has been Switchfoot's 'hello huricane'. i remember the day it came out, racing to get it, racing home again to listen to it with Bren. we lied on our bed - listened - wept - listened some more. this was an album we needed to hear. like salve to our hearts, God spoke softly, then loudly in the situation we found ourself in.

there really is no point to this blog today, except to say that Switchfoot has another album out today and i look forward to its blessings. i wonder how it will touch my life this time?
