Spiritual Leadership begins with humility.
It is never to be sought after as a position of power and status but rather understanding the position as a place of stewardship and care for the people, mysteries and glories of God.
Its a position that requires faithfulness, loyalty, constancy, trueheartedness, trustworthiness, dependability, reliability and integrity, seeking wisdom and clarity from like minded peers.
Spiritual leaders are not judges but rely on God for wisdom in instances that are weighty and potentially divisive.
Motives aside, a leader trusts God in all matters and seeks His face so as to prove God and not self.
Spiritual leaders are to strive to be the best example of Christ in their church, families and in the community.
When hardship comes - to be a blessing; when persecution hits - to stay on mission and when others slander to be the voice of encouragement and reconciliation.
They are men and women who encourage and mentor other leaders and followers to a similar view and understanding of the God entrusted task of shepherding the way.
It is ultimately important for the spiritual leader to understand that this isn’t a position of just talking but acting and leading by example ... understanding that the Kingdom of God is a realm of power.
It is for this reason that a spiritual leader will also seek to better themselves using godly resources and people to grow, challenge and stretch their abilities to lead God’s people.
