Jn10:10 says that there is a life bent for destruction and a life rising to fullness.
The life bent for destruction is not just destruction of self but others too. Its a bitter place that leads to death, plain and simple. The tools of this sort range in variety but the outcome is decided - death destruction - inevitable. The tools are based in self love and advancement and used in ever so subtle ways with cleaver techniques so as to deceive and manipulate.
A life of fullness however, is a slight mystery. It has given up self and trusts the Father for everything ... Not totally at first but eventually. It takes time, the grace and patience of the Father.
The mystery comes in the outcome of being obedient to the father by having a burning desire to follow the ways of Jesus and seeking to remain free in God's kingdom work.
What is produced when I choose the ways of Jesus over mine?
What is produced is not definitive - its mysterious, not rigid-but flowing, not predictable and always surprising, it blesses God and others and brings peace in the midst of brazen storms.
So may you and I together find the ways of God and not find our self in the way of God.
